FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem has spoken of the continued "strong global appeal" of F1 after the 2027 calendar was dropped.

The 24-race schedule will race in 22 countries around the world, and feature a record number of 10 Sprint races, with Portugal and Turkey returning to the calendar for the first time since 2021.

The season will begin in Bahrain on March 14th and end on December 12th in Abu Dhabi, as Ben Sulayem spoke of the combination of "tradition, innovation, and fan engagement while maintaining the highest sporting standards."

"The 2027 FIA Formula 1 World Championship calendar is a strong reflection of the global appeal and continued growth of our sport," said Ben Sulayem.

"With twenty-four Grands Prix across five continents, the return of Portugal and Turkey, and the opportunity for an expanded Sprint programme, the calendar combines tradition, innovation, and fan engagement while maintaining the highest sporting standards.

"I would like to thank Formula 1 Management, the promoters, the national sporting authorities, the FIA officials and volunteers and all our stakeholders for their collaboration and commitment.

"Together, we continue to strengthen the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and deliver an exceptional season for competitors and fans around the world.”
