Mercedes has been noted by the FIA technical delegate for failing to submit set-up sheets for both its cars ahead of qualifying in Las Vegas.
Article 40.1 of the F1 sporting regulations highlights that “each competitor must provide the Technical Delegate with a suspension set-up sheet for both of their cars before each of them leaves the pit lane for the first time during the sprint qualifying session and the qualifying session.”
However, as Mercedes failed to do so, FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer has referred the matter to the stewards.
Mercedes suffered a further setback during qualifying as Kimi Antonelli failed to advance out of the opening qualifying segment.
Bauer also referred Williams to the stewards after it failed to electronically return the required set of intermediate tyres after FP3.
This is a required procedure as outlined by Article 30.4 of the sporting regulations.
