Max Verstappen's manager, Raymond Vermeulen, has offered a response to the recent rumour linking the four-time champion to McLaren.
A report in the Daily Mail claimed that a move to the Woking-based squad could be on the cards as early as next year.
It stated that should the deal be pushed through, Verstappen would line up alongside Lando Norris, while Oscar Piastri would move the other way and join Red Bull.
However, Vermeulen has shut down the rumours, stating there have been no talks with the reigning champions.
“Those rumours are completely unfounded,” Vermeulen told BILD. “There have been no negotiations.“
Verstappen's F1 future has been a topic of interest this season amid Red Bull's slip in the pecking order following the introduction of new technical regulations.
A number of key senior figures from Verstappen's championship-winning years have since departed the team, with Paul Monaghan set to be the next to leave.
Vermeulen has asserted the primary goal is to continue with Red Bull, but insisted the team needs to start making progress.
“As I said before, we’re waiting to see how the car performs in the coming weeks,” Vermeulen added.
“We definitely want to stay at Red Bull, but only with a car that can win.”
