Carlos Sainz sent Ferrari to the top of the timesheets in the afternoon of the second day of pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit.
The Spaniard set a time of a 1:29.921, the fastest effort of the test so far, to finish seven-tenths faster than Red Bull's Sergio Perez.
Lewis Hamilton was third for Mercedes a further four-tenths back, with Lando Norris ahead of old McLaren teammate Daniel Ricciardo, who was fifth for RB.
Charles Leclerc spent an extra hour on track in the lengthened afternoon session after red flags brought the morning session to an early end - the Monégasque sixth fastest ahead of Lance Stroll for Aston Martin.
Esteban Ocon was eight for Alpine ahead of Stake F1's Valtteri Bottas and McLaren's Oscar Piastri - the Australian's time from the morning holding onto a top 10 space.
