Mercedes have taken a 1-2 in first practice for the Russian Grand Prix at the Sochi Autodrom.
Valtteri Bottas used the Soft compound tyre to set a 1:34.427 and finish 0.211s clear of teammate Lewis Hamilton.
Red Bull's Max Verstappen finished in third place, a further 0.016 seconds behind, also on the Soft tyre.
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc utilised his new-spec power unit to finish in fourth place, with Aston Martin's Sebastian Vettel starting his weekend well in fifth.
