Williams have become the second F1 team to unveil its brand-new 2025 challenger, the FW47.
Following on from McLaren's MCL39 on Thursday, Williams' new machine has also launched at Silverstone by new driver pairing Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz, who got the honour of driving the car out on-track first in a shakedown.
Although the car itself is the actual 2025 machine, the livery is a special testing design, with the actual colours set to be publicly unveiled during the F1 75 event at London's O2 on Tuesday 18th February.
The team is set to continue to be powered by Mercedes engines, with the capture of Sainz regarded as something of a coup for the team, who finished ninth in the 2024 constructors' championship following a difficult season.
Team principal James Vowles has worked hard to shift the culture and working practices at Willaims since his appointment in early 2023, with Sainz becoming the first grand prix winner to sign for the team since Felipe Massa in '17, although Robert Kuvica was promoted from a reserve role for '19.
Williams also heads into the new season with a new title sponsorship at Atlassian, the first such deal for the team since the ill-fated deal with telecommunications firm RoKIT, first signed in 2019.
In 2024, Williams scored just 17 points as it slipped to ninth in the standings, with drivers Albon, Logan Sargeant and Franco Colapinto all being involved in a high number of sizable accidents that placed a lot of strain on the team, especially in the final handful of races.
