WATCH: Mass crash in Formula Regional enables Red Bull talent to make leap

Things took a turn for the worst at the start of the Formula Regional Middle East race, when more than ten cars were involved in a big crash.

More than 30 drivers started the Formula Regional Middle East race at the Kuwait Motor Town Circuit, however a significant portion of drivers failed to make it past the second corner.

The track features a short run to Turn 1, then exits onto a long straight before Turn 2. This gives it plenty of options to slip stream, which is exactly what happened when cars went four-wide on entry to T2.

As can be seen in the video below, a number of drivers misjudged the braking zone and chain-reaction process took place with one car launching on top of another.

Other drivers including Sebastian Montoya managed to escape being caught up in the mess, with the Columbian jumping from 18th to fourth.

Footage of the crash can be seen below. All drivers were unharmed.
