Max Verstappen will start from pole position at the Mexican Grand Prix, marking the first time he has started from P1 in Mexico during his F1 career.

The Dutchman outpaced George Russell by over three tenths of a second to take pole, while Russell's Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton set the third fastest time.

Sergio Perez took claimed place in front of his home fans, while Carlos Sainz clinched P5 and Valtteri Bottas put in an impressive performance to take sixth place.

Further back in the field, two drivers will start from the last row after receiving penalties.

Lance Stroll has been demoted to P20 due to a three-place grid drop for causing a collision last time out at the United States Grand Prix, while Kevin Magnussen is pushed down to P19, having been handed a five-place grid penalty for taking on additional power unit elements.

The starting grid below is provisional until confirmed by F1's governing body, the FIA.
