In a practice session dominated by Pirelli tyre testing, George Russell topped FP2 ahead of Yuki Tsunoda and Esteban Ocon.
For the second FP2 in a row, a Pirelli test session was dominated by the drivers who were permitted to briefly run this season's tyres.
Mercedes' Russell, AlphaTauri's Tsunoda, and Alpine driver Ocon missed running in FP1, so were permitted to run their own schedule at the start of FP2, and therefore topped the timing screens.
The other drivers allowed to temporarily run to their own schedule were Alex Albon (Williams, P13) and Kevin Magnussen (Haas, P18). However, both entered the session late.
The second Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton led the Pirelli test runners in P4, ahead of Red Bull's Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen.
Seventh-placed Charles Leclerc crashed out halfway through the session, bringing out the red flags.
