Lewis Hamilton has pointed to an “unusual” trend that emerged on Friday in Barcelona after enduring a difficult day behind the wheel.
Hamilton missed the opening practice session of the weekend as he handed his car over to Dino Beganovic for one of the four mandatory rookie appearances teams must complete during the season.

The stewards overseeing Alpine's Right of Review into Pierre Gasly's time penalties from the Monaco Grand Prix have rescinded the punishments, meaning the French driver is reinstated to the podium.
The one-time grand prix winner had been given two five-second time penalties for speeding in the pit lane in Monte Carlo, which were added to his race time at the chequered flag, dropping him from third on the road to seventh in the classified results.

Lando Norris has ended the second practice session from Barcelona as the fastest driver, holding a narrow gap over George Russell.
Norris' attempt was just 0.009s faster than the Mercedes competitor, with the second McLaren of Oscar Piastri not far away.
