Red Bull have released an image onto their social media channels, offering a first glimpse of the first car they'll produce for Formula 1's new regulations. The car will be called the 'RB18', as the team move on from the successful RB16B – meaning the RB17 will never exist. The RB18 will look radically different to last year's car, due to F1 introducing a completely different set of technical regulations. Max Verstappen will be looking to defend his 2021 Drivers' Championship with the new car, with Sergio Perez joining him for their second consecutive year as teammates.
A unique launch event for Red Bull
While Red Bull stopped short of announcing their launch date, they have revealed that the event itself will be unique. Fans are invited to enter into a competition , which will allow the winners to live stream a personalised version of the RB18 car launch on a selected social media channel. The winners will be able to choose a driver to introduce the show, a team leader to speak about the new car and the language of the presentation. Meanwhile, Aston Martin have become the first team to announce their launch date .
