Oscar Piastri has asserted he does not expect to be treated differently from Lando Norris next year after the Briton's championship triumph.
Norris closed out the 2025 season finale in Abu Dhabi on top of the drivers' championship to become the 35th F1 title winner.
The three-way fight in Abu Dhabi saw Piastri and Max Verstappen walk away empty-handed despite finishing ahead of Norris on the road, with third all the latter needed to seal the title.
McLaren maintained its approach of treating its drivers equally all season long, a dynamic Piastri is not expecting to shift next year.
“No, I don’t think so, I don't think that will change anything,” Piastri told media including RacingNews365
“For me, he’s obviously had a great season this year and is a deserving champion.
“But he's still Lando Norris - it’s not like he's become Superman. I don't think things will change with that.
“I’m expecting full fairness from the team and equality going forward.
“I don't have any concerns that that will change at all.”
Piastri took hold of the championship lead early on in the campaign and looked to be favourite to win the title after the summer break.
But a dip in form from the Australian aided Norris' route to the top of the standings, leaving Piastri to concede his team-mate was the better performer across the year.
“Clearly, Lando has had a very strong season this year, and ultimately did a better job,” Piastri stated.
