The Williams F1 Team have revealed a special one-off livery for the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid, drawing inspiration from the championship-winning FW07C that raced at the Circuito de Jarama back in 1981.
The design, created in partnership with title and technology partner Atlassian, revives the striking white, green, and navy blue colour scheme worn by the car during Williams' Constructors' Championship-winning season.
That campaign saw Alan Jones and Carlos Reutemann represent the team in the Spanish capital, and now, 45 years on, the FW48 will carry a visual nod to that era as Carlos Sainz races in front of his home crowd at the brand-new Madring circuit.
The livery was unveiled at the Williams F1 Team Fan Zone in Madrid's Plaza De Callao, with Sainz present for the occasion.
Team Principal James Vowles said: "Our mission to get back to the front of the grid is drawn from, inspired by and informed by everything we've done before.
“I am incredibly proud to celebrate that through Atlassian's special livery, connecting the team we were at Jarama with the team we are becoming today through focused collaboration, improved technological innovation and real creativity.
“The car looks fantastic, and I cannot wait to see it lapping around Madrid."
