Oscar Piastri has vowed that his moments of adversity during the 2025 F1 season will only mould him into a stronger driver going forward.
Piastri entered the Abu Dhabi race weekend knowing he needed something extraordinary to go in his favour to seal the title as he sat 16 points down on Norris.
The Australian made an early-race overtake on his team-mate and stayed ahead of him for the entirety of the grand prix.
However, third place on the road was enough for Norris to seal his maiden title and bring an end to the championship battle and leaving Piastri dejected at the missed opportunity.
Speaking to Sky F1 about how he will come back from the difficult situation, Piastri said: “When things have been good this year, I've felt unstoppable at points.
“To even be able to get to that point is a pretty cool feeling to have. There have been plenty of times when that's not been the case.
“I've learned a lot of lessons on how to deal with tough moments, adversity from different directions.
“I've learned a lot about myself. I've obviously been in championship battles before in the junior categories, but in F1, it's got a little bit extra to it.
“I've learned plenty about that this year, and that'll only help me going forward.”
Piastri went deep into the race after starting on a set of hard tyres, which could have played to his advantage if a safety car had been called after his rivals pitted.
However, such a scenario failed to materialise as the Australian conceded it threw everything it had at walking away with the title in hand.
“We gave it everything,” Piastri told Sky F1.
“We tried a bit of a gamble on strategy, tried absolutely everything to try and win the race and give ourselves the best chance to win a championship.
“But ultimately, we didn't have the pace today. I gave it absolutely everything, and that's all you can ask for.”
