Oscar Piastri joked that he would put up a "cardboard barrier" between his and Lando Norris' side of the garage for this weekend's title-deciding Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Piastri enters the season finale as the title outsider at the Yas Marina Circuit, with him being third in the standings and 16 points adrift.
To become world champion, he must finish in either first or second but will still require a bad result for Max Verstappen and, crucially, Norris.
Despite Piastri and Norris both fighting for a maiden title, the Australian driver revealed that McLaren is treating the weekend as business as usual within the camp.
No changes will be made to how the team operates during a grand prix, with Piastri confirming that he and Norris will continue to share data as normal across the event.
Asked if there would be a different approach to sharing data, Piastri initially joked: "Set up a cardboard barrier between the two of us! No, it's the same as usual.
"You know, obviously, we want to go out and make the car as quick as possible and win. We always wanted the same opportunities to go and win races, so it's the same this week."
McLaren CEO Zak Brown and team principal Andrea Stella have both ensured the team tries to focus on the bigger picture rather than a particular driver.
As a result, even if McLaren's drivers wanted to tackle this weekend differently regarding the data, Norris is convinced it would not be allowed.
On the topic of sharing data, Norris said: "Yeah, nothing more to add. I don't think Zak or Andrea would let us even if we wanted to. So no. Same as every weekend."
