Charles Leclerc has signed a new Ferrari contract with improved terms, which is believed to have provided a significant bump to the Monegasque driver's salary.
It is unclear whether the eight-time grand prix winner has also extended his contract as part of this new deal, on top of what was already an opaque picture from the Italian team.
Although it is believed his pre-existing contract carried through until at least the end of 2028, there is nothing concrete in the Maranello-based squad's recent announcement that suggests he has been further locked in beyond that point.
His team-mate at the Pracing Horse, Lewis Hamilton, has a contract for 2027 and is understood to have a driver option for the following campaign, too.
Other drivers, such as George Russell and Max Verstappen, also have clauses or options in their contracts in their favour, but many of those racing in the second half of the F1 field are up for renewal — or option activation — at the end of the year, which could mean the paddock is in for a busy silly season once the driver market gets moving.
