The organisation behind the 24 Hours of Nürburgring has decided to lift the limit of 150 participating teams, after next month's race was oversubscribed.
The organisers had previously announced that a selection process would be held owing to 161 entries planned, despite only 150 being permitted.
However, RacingNews365 understands that it was felt that teams wanting an entry and having deployed resources into an attack of the Green Hell should be rewarded with a slot on the starting grid.
The twice-around-the-clock endurance race, the second of the classic big four of the year, takes place on May 16-17th, with Max Verstappen set to take part, with the official entry lists due later this week.
