Mercedes has unveiled a wolf-inspired front wing for the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix, but it is not a nod to team principal Toto Wolff.
The collaboration between Y-3 and Mercedes translates avant-garde design into performance engineering, inspiring the front wing concept for the W17.
Drawing on Japanese mythology, the design embodies a guardian-like aerodynamic philosophy — blending aggression with control.
The Brackley-based squad has enjoyed a formidable start to the F1 season, but with the new look, the W17 certainly will not be a wolf in sheep's clothing at Suzuka.
And the eight-time constructors' champion has become the third team to reveal a livery change for the third round of the campaign.
Racing Bulls has the most altered look, with Haas opting for a Godzilla-themed approach.
George Russell leads the F1 drivers' championship by four points over team-mate Kimi Antonelli.
In the constructors' standings, the team holds a comfortable 31-point advantage over Ferrari and is the only team to have secured a pole position or victory so far this term.
