Rafael Camara massively boosted his F2 drivers' championship hopes with victory in the feature race at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
The Ferrari Academy driver started from pole and beat Nikola Tsolov by 9.8 seconds under the searing heat in Spain. Pitting later, he had to hunt down Alex Dunne in the lead, but was able to pull out a comfortable buffer as the Rodin Motorsport driver failed to hold off the Bulgarian.
Dunne rounded out the podium at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with Gabriele Mini and Laurens van Hoepen completing the top five.
It was just reward for Camara, whose mistake in the feature race in Monaco forced him into retirement when he had been fighting for victory.
Tsolov vaulted himself into the championship lead with his second-place finish, unseating Mini, who was unable to catch Dunne in the dying moments.
He will have to visit the stewards, however, with the FIA officials investigating him for leaving the track and gaining an advantage in his fight with Mini. If penalised, that would return Mini to the summit of the standings.
