McLaren has confirmed that IndyCar star and Mexican GP FP1 runner Pato O'Ward was taken to the medical centre after his running.
Deputising for Lando Norris, O'Ward completed 30 laps in his first FP1 outing since this race 12 months ago, and finished in 13th place.
However, the home favourite was then taken to the circuit's medical centre without completing any sponsor or media work and quickly treated before being released.
When asked to confirm whether O'Ward had been treated by the doctors by RacingNews365, a McLaren spokesperson confirmed.
"He was taken to the medical centre for assessment after FP1, having reported feeling unwell," read the statement.
"After assessment and a period of observation, he was then discharged back to the team."
When then asked to confirm if he had suffered food poisoning, McLaren did not give any comment, except to say: "We're not going to go into any more detail than the above."
