Lando Norris appeared the man to beat after finishing quickest in SQ1 and SQ2, ahead of Verstappen, and the Briton set the bar in SQ3 with a lap of 1:32.214s.

Apple strike multi-million dollar deal with F1
Apple has secured exclusive broadcasting rights for F1 in the United States from 2026 onwards, for its streaming service Apple TV, in a five-year deal believed to be worth $150 million per year.
The technology company will assume the rights from the current holder, ESPN, which has held them since 2017.

Zak Brown has claimed that McLaren has been "transparent" in revealing Lando Norris is subject to "repercussions" for his move on Oscar Piastri, despite the team refusing to reveal what they are.
Ahead of the United States GP, both Norris and Piastri revealed that the former had been held "accountable" for the incident in Singapore and would be subject to "repercussions" moving forward.

Lewis Hamilton believes Ferrari's deficit to United States Grand Prix Sprint pole position shows the team has "a mountain to climb."
Hamilton will be the lead works Ferrari on the grid in Austin, taking eighth place, but was 0.892s slower than pole-sitter Max Verstappen, with the SF-25's best effort being a 1:33.035 compared to Verstappen's 1:32.143.
