Max Verstappen has labelled Pirelli's F1 tyres as “super sensitive” following his latest experience behind the wheel at testing.
Verstappen enjoyed a productive, uninterrupted day on Thursday as he tallied 139 laps through the eight hours of running.
The Dutchman will return to the cockpit on Friday, when he will split duties with team-mate Isack Hadjar.
Having got plenty of mileage under his belt on the penultimate day, Verstappen's attention was drawn to the complexity of Pirelli's tyres.
“As a team, it was good to focus on longer run performance today,” the four-time champion said.
“We made some adjustments to the set up, which has given us some good direction overnight. Having a full day of running was positive.
“The tyres are super sensitive, so there’s still a lot of analysis required there.”
Friday will mark the final day of on-track action before the sport heads to Australia for the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix.
Verstappen asserted Red Bull's primary focus is on getting as many laps on the board as it can as it wraps up its test programme.
“On Friday, we will aim to get as many laps as we can between us,” he said.
“There is still a lot to understand, so we hope to get as much data on the car as we can ahead of Melbourne”.
