Max Verstappen had a dramatic off-track excursion during FP2 for the Australian Grand Prix, when his RB22 went wide on the outside of Turn 12 at Albert Park.
The Red Bull driver was seen bouncing over the gravel, with bits flying off the floor and underbody of his car, causing what appears to be significant damage.
The extent of the work that will be required, or if replacements are needed, is not yet clear, but it could leave the Milton Keynes-based squad with work to do into the Melbourne evening.
Having finished third in FP1, only behind the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, the Dutchman has endured a more difficult second hour of running at the campaign opener.
Early in the session, his RB22 had to be wheeled back to the pits. It is also not yet known what the root of that problem was, but the four-time F1 drivers' champion was able to return to the circuit.
Running sixth fastest, he was behind the Mercedes pair, both Ferraris and the McLaren of Oscar Piastri, who topped the session in front of his adoring home fans.
