Max Verstappen has pulled out one of the all-time great qualifying laps to take pole position for the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix.
He denied Fernando Alonso pole with a stunning last-ditch effort in Monte Carlo, with Charles Leclerc third for Ferrari.
But in a contrasting session, Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez crashed in Q1 and will start 20th and last.
