Kimi Antonelli has been handed a five-second time penalty by F1 stewards for an unsafe release in the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
As the field charged for the pits in the closing stages to switch to the intermediate tyres, Mercedes released Antonelli into the path of Alpine's Franco Colapinto, who was forced to check up.
Antonelli eventually went on to finish in fifth place as Mercedes sealed the constructors' title, with George Russell taking fourth.
However, as Antonelli crossed the line 20.4s in front of Oscar Piastri in sixth, he did not lose any places, and the gap between them was reduced to 15.4s for the standard unsafe release penalty.
Elsewhere, Oliver Bearman also picked up a five-second sanction for an unsafe release on Charles Leclerc, but it does not change his 17th-place finishing position.
