McLaren will be looking to bounce back from its horror showing in the United States Grand Prix Sprint after a double DNF in main race qualifying.
Nico Hulkenberg tagged Oscar Piastri at Turn 1, with the championship leader collecting team-mate Lando Norris as he spun out.
Fernando Alonso was also eliminated as Max Verstappen went on to take the win, taking the full eight points to reduce Piastri's points lead to 55 points and 33 to Norris in second, but can the Dutchman strike another blow in qualifying?
Norris took pole last year, ahead of Verstappen, with Piastri down in fifth, but what will happen in Austin on Saturday afternoon?
