Kimi Antonelli soared to another race victory on Sunday as he took to the top step of the podium in Miami.
He now sits 20 points clear of George Russell in the drivers' championship and is now the bookies' favourite to take the title this year.
Elsewhere on the grid, it was a frustrating event for Ferrari who struggled through various issues, while Red Bull received a boost in pace despite its own knocks.
Below, you can read how media from around the world reacted to the fourth round of the F1 season, the Miami GP.
🇬🇧 Daily Mail - Kimi Antonelli becoming 'big thorn' in George Russell's side
Kimi Antonelli not only managed to win his third consecutive grand prix, but he did so convincingly and several places ahead of team-mate George Russell.
The Italian driver now holds a 20-point lead over Russell, and while it is still early days in the title fight, it will give him a very welcome confidence boost.
The Daily Mail writes that Antonelli is becoming a major problem for Russell as they both target their first F1 titles.
His performance in Miami was mightily impressive, having withstood pressure from reigning champion Lando Norris - “and Russell knows that better than anyone else”, the publication writes as he looks to bounce back stronger next time around.
🇳🇱 Red Bull 'back in the game'
Red Bull endured a torrid opening three rounds, and matters were not helped by Max Verstappen's continued criticism of the F1 rules.
However, following a series of changes ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, Verstappen spoke more positively about the cars, despite them still not being close to his liking.
Red Bull itself took a clear step forward as Verstappen qualified on the front row, a result that was undone with a spin on the opening lap.
But as De Telegraaf details, “Mekies and Waché know better than anyone that Verstappen is capable of great things, provided he has a car he feels comfortable in. And that doesn't necessarily have to be the absolute fastest car on the grid.”
Focus will be on continued developments, because if Verstappen has a sniff of an opportunity, he will be sure to take it.
🇪🇸 Marca - Lewis Hamilton 'lost' at Ferrari
While Hamilton managed to tick off the achievement of his first podium for Ferrari in China, there has been little else to cheer about this year.
The seven-time champion was largely anonymous during the Miami Grand Prix weekend, and was a non-player in all sessions building up to the grand prix.
On the opening lap, Hamilton made contact with Franco Colapinto and the resulting damage dented all hope of a recovery drive up the order.
His performance did not impress Marca, who wrote that he “delivered one of his most lacklustre performances of the year in a race where he never found a rhythm or solutions”.
They also go as far as to say that a renewal of his contract “doesn't seem like the best option” as it stands.
🇮🇹 La Gazzetta dello Sport - Ferrari frustrations continue
Ferrari entered the weekend full of hope as it applied a significant upgrade to its car.
But it soon realised that it was not enough to close the gap to Mercedes at the front of the pack, and even Leclerc's venture in the lead early on was short-lived.
To compound his misery, he suffered a spin late on and was subsequently handed a 20-second time penalty for various excursions across the run-off to complete the final lap.
La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that the “sense of frustration continues” as the team still continues to lack pace.
For Hamilton, they pointed out his greatest sense of frustration stems from the lack of correlation between the simulator and the real car.
🇺🇸 The Athletic - Kimi Antonelli passes his toughest test yet
The Athletic dissects Antonelli's race win as the Italian soared to his third race win from his third pole position.
While the Italian has been no stranger to winning in recent weeks, his win in Miami came following a brand new challenge.
In the second half of the race, Antonelli was forced to deal with the pressure being put on him by reigning champion Norris, knowing one slip-up would likely see the win slip through his grasp.
“Antonelli is riding a high, with three wins, four podiums and three poles under his belt to start the year,” it said.
“He’s recovering from mistakes that are made, whether it be his own or a potential team issue.”
