Christian Horner has labelled Max Verstappen being booed by fans at the F1 75 launch event as his biggest 'disappointment' from the incident.

After taking to the stage to introduce Red Bull's livery launch, Horner was subject to booing, and one fan sat near RacingNews365 even shouted to him to "shut up", before Verstappen and Liam Lawson entered the arena.

Verstappen himself was then subject to booing, without speaking, with his father Jos indicating that he would be prepared to boycott the event if it is held in the UK in the future.

The FIA also released its own statement over the "tribalism" of fans, as Horner addressed the incident for the first time.

"It was a big event, obviously all the teams put a lot of effort into it which was good and interesting to see," Horner said when asked by RacingNews365 for his opinion.

"Now, when you launch your car, it is a bit like launching your away strip in a home fan stadium, and fans will always back the teams and drivers they want to and of course, we've been the protagonists over the years.

"I guess the only disappointment was the reception, Max, as a four-time world champion got, that was disappointing.

"But passion in sport is always going to be there, and if the launch was in Holland, no doubt the support would have been somewhat different.

When pushed by RacingNews365 for a response to the FIA's statement, Horner explained how it was not something asked for by Red Bull or himself.

"They [the FIA] made their own comments, it was nothing we certainly asked for," he added.

"We didn't have any conversation with the FIA following the event it was obviously a part of their campaign to stamp out online abuse."
