Ferrari has confirmed an update to the halo on the SF-26 at the Shanghai International Circuit, to add to the unexpected early delivery of the 'Macarena' rear wing.
Although seen during F1 pre-season testing in Bahrain, the novel design set tongues in the paddock wagging due to its reverse or flipped nature.
It is increasingly being referred to as the 'Macarena' wing after the famous dance from the 1993 pop hit with the same name by Los Del Rio.
On media day at the Chinese Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton hailed the efforts of the team at Maranello to have the rear wing ready for just the second round of the campaign, with it initially slated for a midseason launch.
It also transpired that because of the late availability of the part, it was transported to Shanghai in the luggage of team personnel.
Now, in the official FIA submissions document, the Scuderia has confirmed an added winglet to the halo pillar.
The Italian squad has stated that it "returns a small aerodynamic load benefit" to the package.
Further down the order
Ferrari is the only leading team to declare any upgrades for the round in China, with McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull all visibly unchanged.
Racing Bulls has introduced a modified rear corner, by way of an altered brake duct winglet, to improve the flow management at the rear of the car.
Haas, meanwhile, has updated its rear impact structure to increase local load through a small winglet.
Audi has delivered two improvements to the nose and front wing of the R26. The updated nose design "allows for a more efficient load extraction all along the slope" of the structure.
Additionally, the new front wing flap and end plate geometry will further enhance load in that area of the car.
Cadillac, after issues with the durability of the MAC26's bodywork in Melbourne, has made structural improvements to the mirror stay and included revisions to the diffuser winglet cascade, which will increase aerodynamic load at the rear.
