Alain Prost made his Formula 1 debut in 1980 racing for McLaren. The Frenchman would then spend three years at Renault, winning his first race in 1982 at his home race in Dijon. Prost would then return to McLaren in 1984, partnering fellow legend Niki Lauda. Despite registering seven wins he would lose the title to his more illustrious teammate at the time by half a point.
