Max Verstappen took a 16th victory of the season at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
Polesitter Leclerc was caught out by a red flag midway through the race due to a heavy crash from Kevin Magnussen, which put him in the clutches of Hamilton.
Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris rounded out the top five, finishing ahead of George Russell and Daniel Ricciardo after passing both late in the race.
Further back Oscar Piastri finished in P8, with Alex Albon taking points for Williams ahead of Nico Hulkenberg who was P10.
Both Aston Martin drivers were the only other retirees, following a problem for Fernando Alonso and a late collision for Lance Stroll with Valtteri Bottas.
