Max Verstappen lay down a stunning benchmark ahead of what is set to be a wet qualifying with the fastest time in Final Practice for the Canadian Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver set a best effort of 1:23.106 on a set of Intermediates, 0.291secs faster than Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
Fernando Alonso and Kevin Magnussen were unable to reach within a second of Verstappen's time in difficult conditions but provided optimism of a strong grid position for Aston Martin and Haas.
Carlos Sainz was fifth fastest but ended his session in the barriers for Ferrari, crashing out at Turn 1. The Spaniard also faces an investigation for blocking Williams driver Alex Albon.
Alpine's Pierre Gasly finished sixth ahead of Lance Stroll, Yuki Tsunoda and Valtteri Bottas, whilst Lewis Hamilton was the fastest Mercedes with the 10th-quickest time - the Silver Arrows struggling for tyre temperature on the Intermediates.
