The downpours in qualifying could not prevent championship leader Max Verstappen from taking Formula 1 Pole Position for the Canadian Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver is joined on the front row by Fernando Alonso in the heavily-upgraded Aston Martin, whilst right behind him are the two Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, who have been promising better race pace than qualifying pace.
A penalised Nico Hulkenberg starts on the third row of the grid for Haas, whilst front-runners Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez will be battling from lowly grid slots to recover from a poor qualifying.
The race is expected to be dry, but the Canadian weather has refused to ease completely. Could light rain showers affect the running?
