Lewis Hamilton has gone fastest in a straightforward opening practice session at Istanbul Park.
The Mercedes man set a time of 1:24.178 on the Soft tyre to go quickest midway through the session, a full four-tenths of a second faster than title rival Max Verstappen.
During the session, it was confirmed that Hamilton will take a grid penalty for this weekend's race.
Verstappen, resplendent in a bespoke white livery as a tribute to Red Bull engine partner Honda, was half a tenth clear of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in third place.
