Lewis Hamilton set the pace in the second practice session for the Italian Grand Prix, with championship rival Max Verstappen third as they were separated by Hamilton's teammate Valtteri Bottas.
Half a second covered the top three, with Sergio Perez joining in the lead battle by finishing in fourth.
The session was marred by a big crash for Ferrari's Carlos Sainz, who lost control going through Ascari. While uninjured, it was a hard hit and Ferrari now face a race against time to fix the car on time for the Sprint Qualifying race on Saturday afternoon.
