The latest F1 news for the 2025 season:

  • Formula 1 2025 calendar | The 2025 calendar has been unveiled and will feature 24 Grands Prix;
  • F1 drivers for 2025 | The Formula 1 drivers for 2025 have been confirmed, featuring many new drivers.
     
  • In the 2025 F1 season, we see many new faces. The rookies of this year include Isack Hadjar (RB), Gabriel Bortoleto (Stake F1 Team), Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), Oliver Bearman (Haas), and Jack Doohan (Alpine). Jack Doohan has already competed in one Grand Prix for the French team, while Oliver Bearman has raced in several Grands Prix, driving for both Ferrari and Haas. Additionally, Liam Lawson joins Red Bull as Max Verstappen's teammate this year, and although he has not completed a full season before, he can also be considered a newcomer.
     
  • Since 2004, the Bahrain Grand Prix has been the season opener. However, this year, the 2025 Formula 1 season will kick off in Australia, the home race for Oscar Piastri and Jack Doohan.
     
  • It has been announced that testing days will once again take place in Bahrain from February 26 to 28.
     
  • The season opener in Australia was a spectacle with overtaking maneuvers, crashes, neutralizations, and heavy rain. The treacherous conditions led to six DNFs. McLaren seemed to dominate, but a crucial braking error cost both drivers a lot of time, with Oscar Piastri even falling back into the field. This allowed Max Verstappen to close in, resulting in a thrilling battle between the Dutchman and Lando Norris in the final laps, which was won by the Brit. The standout performer was Kimi Antonelli, who drove from P16 to P4 with impressive overtaking actions.
     
  • There was plenty of action in China, with Lewis Hamilton and the Ferrari team securing their first sprint race victory. However, the Grand Prix ended in tears for the Italian team after the disqualification of Lewis Hamilton (skid blocks) and Charles Leclerc (failure to meet the weight requirement). Pierre Gasly was also disqualified for not meeting the weight requirement. McLaren dominated in China, with Oscar Piastri convincingly taking the victory. George Russell finished third, while Esteban Ocon impressively secured fifth place.
     
  • On Thursday, March 27, Red Bull announced that Liam Lawson would swap places with Yuki Tsunoda due to disappointing performances. As a result, we will see the Japanese driver in action from the Japanese Grand Prix onwards, as Max Verstappen's teammate.
     

  • Home favourite Yuki Tsunoda was unable to finish higher than twelfth in Japan. His teammate, Max Verstappen, impressively beat both McLarens on his way to an impressive victory at the iconic Suzuka Circuit. Meanwhile, Isack Hadjar delivered a strong performance, finishing a commendable seventh for Racing Bulls.

     

  • The Bahrain Grand Prix was dominated by Oscar Piastri, who claimed the fourth victory of his career. The Red Bull drivers experienced numerous issues and suffered from poor pit stops due to mistakes by the Austrian team, resulting in Verstappen finishing sixth and Tsunoda ninth. Meanwhile, Gasly, Ocon, and Bearman impressively finished in the points, while Russell and Norris battled for second place right up until the final lap — with the Mercedes driver ultimately coming out on top.

     

  • The incident between polesitter Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri in turn one at the start is still widely discussed. It earned the Dutchman a five-second time penalty, which cost him a shot at victory, while Piastri convincingly secured the fifth win of his career. Furthermore, Lando Norris made an impressive comeback to finish fourth after starting in tenth place. Williams also enjoyed a strong weekend, with both drivers finishing in the points.

     

  • There was fierce competition for every position in both the sprint race and the main race. The sprint race was truly spectacular, thanks to a wet track that gradually dried up and the unusual collision between Antonelli and Verstappen in the pit lane. During the main race, Verstappen managed to hold off the McLarens for several laps, but eventually, the Papaya drivers got past him. Oscar Piastri convincingly won the race, strengthening his grip on the championship. His teammate Lando Norris finished second, and George Russell completed the podium in third place.

     

  • The race in Imola was full of excitement, featuring both a virtual safety car and a full safety car, which completely shuffled the running order. This resulted in a thrilling battle between the McLarens and Verstappen, with the Dutchman coming out on top thanks to a dominant performance. After the race, Max Verstappen expressed great satisfaction with Red Bull’s race pace. Alexander Albon also stood out with an impressive fifth-place finish in his Williams.

     

  • The iconic Monaco Grand Prix was won by polesitter Lando Norris. The Brit drove flawlessly on the narrow street circuit, securing his sixth career victory. Additionally, Hadjar, Ocon, Lawson, Albon, and Sainz impressively finished in the points thanks to an excellent strategy. This allowed teammates to help each other by holding up other drivers, enabling them to make a free pit stop and thus score important points for the team.

     

The 2024 F1 season

  • Starting from 2024, the former 'Alfa Romeo' will change its name to 'Stake F1 Team'. Alfa Romeo, once a well-known player in Formula 1 before World War II, will now definitively withdraw from the sport. As a result, Stake F1 Team will also adopt a new livery, prominently featuring the green color of the sponsors.
  • In 2024, the former AlphaTauri will also undergo a name change to 'Visa Cash App RB'. The name change aligns with the new identity the team aims to achieve. Visa and Cash App are already partners of Red Bull, but with Visa Cash App RB, they will be the main sponsors.
  • Reportedly, Madrid will pay an estimated 48 million euros annually to organize a Formula 1 Grand Prix. Starting from 2026, they will host 'the Grand Prix of Spain.' Their contract runs until 2035.
  • Lewis Hamilton, who has raced for Mercedes for an impressive twelve seasons, will make the move to Ferrari in 2025. This major news caused complete chaos within the F1 world, leaving many fans eager for the upcoming season. Will Hamilton secure his eighth world title with Ferrari? Or perhaps in his final year at Mercedes?
  • After a highly dominant season for Red Bull in 2023, the competition is eager to contend for the championship in 2024. It has been announced that the test days will take place between February 21 and February 23 in Bahrain. Which team will emerge as the strongest in this showdown?
  • Max Verstappen won the first Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain with a lead of approximately 20 seconds over his teammate, who finished second. The Dutchman delivered incredibly consistent stint times, surpassing the competition. Verstappen broke Lewis Hamilton's record for the most consecutive points scored in Formula 1 with this victory in Bahrain. Currently, the Dutch driver has scored 1030 consecutive points. Additionally, Carlos Sainz finished impressively in third place after a strong race.
     
  • During the 2024 Saudi Arabia GP, Max Verstappen won the race and clinched his 100th podium, joining F1 legends like Räikkönen, Prost, and Alonso. Vettel holds third place with 122 podiums, Schumacher second with 155, and Hamilton leads with 197. Verstappen's dominance this season should propel him closer to the top 3 in all-time podium finishes.
  • Because of the illness of Carlos Sainz, the Ferrari reserve driver Oliver Bearman replaced the Spaniard for FP3, qualifying, and the race in Saudi Arabia. He became the youngest Ferrari driver ever at 18 years of age. Bearman qualified 11th and finished the race in 7th position, earning him the title of Driver of the Day.
  • The Australian Grand Prix was an unprecedented spectacle. Early in the race, Max Verstappen retired due to a brake issue. Later, Lewis Hamilton also retired due to a mechanical problem. In the final lap, his teammate George Russell crashed heavily after Fernando Alonso braked earlier than usual for a corner. Later, the Spaniard received a 20-second time penalty and three penalty points on his super license. The GP was won by Carlos Sainz, who drove flawlessly throughout the race. This is an incredibly impressive feat considering Sainz's recent appendicitis.
  • The start of the Japanese GP was highly chaotic with a crash between Daniel Ricciardo and Alexander Albon in the first corners of lap one. This resulted in a red flag, leading to a restart approximately half an hour later. The Red Bulls controlled the race and finished neatly in first and second, with Max Verstappen as the convincing winner. Carlos Sainz impressively finished on the podium, thus securing a podium in every race. There was a fierce battle in the midfield for the final point, which was won by the home hero Yuki Tsunoda. The Japanese driver impressively secured another point for RB and now stands at 7 points in the standings.
  • The weekend in China was full of excitement, with a red flag during the first practice session due to a fire on the track and another red flag during qualifying following a crash involving Carlos Sainz. Fortunately, the Spaniard was able to complete the qualifying session nonetheless. During the race, the safety car was deployed twice, bringing the field back together. However, several drivers were involved in incidents, and Valtteri Bottas experienced mechanical issues, resulting in three drivers being unable to finish the race. Additionally, the FIA issued penalties to five drivers during this race weekend, including super license penalty points and time penalties. Home hero Zhou Guanyu finished the race in fourteenth place.
  • In Miami, Lando Norris achieved his first F1 victory! The Brit drove a fantastic race and was able to pull away from Max Verstappen, who was behind him, with each lap after the safety car. This enabled Norris to be the first to cross the start/finish line after a series of 15 podiums without a win. Additionally, Esteban Ocon scored the first point of the season for Alpine this weekend, and Leclerc finished on the podium after an impressive performance.
  • In Emilia-Romagna, the battle for the win between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris became incredibly intense. A gap of eight seconds was gradually reduced by the Brit during the final stages of the race. Verstappen narrowly finished ahead of Norris by just 0.725 seconds. As a result, the Dutchman also achieved a new record, having the highest win percentage on the grid with 30.73%.
  • Charles Leclerc managed to win his home race, the Monaco Grand Prix, from pole position. After a severe crash in the first lap at the back of the field, a red flag was issued, allowing drivers to change tires. Ferrari, among others, decided to change tires at that point, complying with the regulations so they wouldn't need to stop again. Leclerc convincingly won the race and was very emotional when he crossed the finish line. Especially after the mechanical and strategic misfortunes he experienced when starting from pole position in 2021 and 2022 (and not winning then), and also because he couldn't share this moment with his father, who passed away.
  • The Canadian GP was an unprecedented spectacle due to the tricky and changing weather conditions. No fewer than three drivers had a chance at victory: Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and George Russell. The trio showed incredible race pace, but ultimately, Verstappen came out on top. Additionally, there were five retirements, including Sergio Perez, who is under significant pressure for not getting past Q1 during qualifying in Monaco. As a result, both Alpines impressively scored points, and hometown hero Lance Stroll finished in seventh place.
  • The Spanish GP saw a lot of on-track battles, with Lando Norris and Max Verstappen fighting for the top spot. Similar to Imola, Norris gradually closed the gap towards the end on Verstappen, but fell just short of securing the victory. Sergio Perez had a challenging weekend, finishing eighth, while both Alpine drivers impressively scored points for the team.
  • The Austrian GP ended in tears for Lando Norris and Max Verstappen. The drivers fiercely battled for the lead throughout the race. In lap 64, they made contact while braking into turn three, resulting in punctures for both drivers. This forced Norris to retire from the race, while Verstappen finished fifth. As a result, George Russell capitalized and claimed victory. Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz followed Russell on the podium, with the Haas drivers finishing impressively in 6th and 8th place.
  • The race at the iconic Silverstone circuit was an unprecedented spectacle! The entire race was thrilling as it was uncertain who would seize the victory in tricky, changing weather conditions, where the right strategy was crucial. Norris, Verstappen, and Hamilton all had a chance at winning, resulting in an exciting battle. Ultimately, Lewis Hamilton came out on top and won at Silverstone, bringing forth plenty of emotions. Besides the battle between the top teams, Nico Hülkenberg impressively finished in sixth place, just like in Austria.
  • The Hungarian GP will be talked about for a long time. Verstappen was often heard on the radio and was very frustrated with his team's strategy. Additionally, he also had a race incident with Lewis Hamilton. Perhaps the most discussed moment was Lando Norris having to give up his first position to Oscar Piastri due to team orders. Will this decision cost Norris in the drivers' championship?
  • McLaren came back strongly from the summer break, allowing Lando Norris to win the Dutch GP with a commanding 22-second lead. Verstappen finished second and was highly dissatisfied with his car. Despite a strong start, where the Dutchman took the lead, he was quickly overtaken by Norris, who then gradually pulled away.
  • McLaren was the clear favorite to win in Monza, but against expectations, Charles Leclerc managed to win the Italian Grand Prix. Unlike the other teams, Ferrari opted for just one pit stop, which ultimately proved to be the right choice under the watchful eye of the Tifosi. The celebration in Italy was unforgettable and spectacular!
  • After Norris qualified fifteenth, his chance to close the gap in points to title rival Max Verstappen seemed impossible. However, the Brit finished ahead of the Dutchman in fourth place. Oscar Piastri impressively won the race after keeping Charles Leclerc, who ultimately finished second, right behind him for much of the Grand Prix. Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz fought hard for the final podium spot, but this ended in a major crash, which was later deemed a racing incident.
  • The Singapore GP saw a dominant performance by Lando Norris. The Brit won by over twenty seconds ahead of Max Verstappen, who impressively finished in second place. In the final lap, Daniel Ricciardo managed to take the fastest lap from Lando Norris. Verstappen thanked him over the radio at the end of the race, as this would make a difference in the battle for the world championship.
  • At the start of the US GP, Verstappen squeezed inside Norris, causing them both to struggle out of turn one, allowing Leclerc to take the lead. The Monegasque driver took first place and drove a very dominant race with his teammate Sainz in second. Later in the race, Norris was faster than Verstappen, and they fought for the third position for several laps. Eventually, Norris overtook the Dutchman, but it was off the track, resulting in a penalty and causing him to miss out on third place. This was a much-discussed moment of the race. Additionally, Liam Lawson impressively finished ninth after starting nineteenth, and Franco Colapinto also managed to secure one point.
  • The Mexican Grand Prix delivered plenty of excitement due to the much-discussed incidents between Lando Norris and Max Verstappen, which resulted in a twenty-second time penalty for the Dutchman. Additionally, Liam Lawson battled fiercely with Sergio Pérez, with the Mexican driver angrily responding over the team radio. Franco Colapinto also received a penalty due to contact with Liam Lawson. In the end, there was plenty of action, and Carlos Sainz secured a convincing victory in the Mexican Grand Prix, earning valuable points in the Constructors' Championship.
  • In Brazil, there was an enormous amount of rain, resulting in tricky conditions for the F1 drivers. The qualifying session was even postponed due to the bad weather and was eventually held on Sunday. Ultimately, we were treated to a spectacular GP with a lot of action and overtakes. Max Verstappen drove an incredibly strong race and won in São Paulo with a gap of nearly twenty seconds, despite starting from seventeenth. Additionally, both Alpine drivers impressively finished alongside the Dutchman on the podium.
  • In Las Vegas, the championship celebration erupted for Max Verstappen! By finishing ahead of his rival Lando Norris, he secured his fourth world title, placing him on par with F1 legends such as Sebastian Vettel and Alain Prost. Additionally, the Las Vegas Grand Prix brought plenty of action and spectacular overtakes. George Russell drove excellently and ultimately won the race, marking the third victory of his career.
  • The Qatar Grand Prix was a true spectacle! With no less than three safety cars, five DNFs, and significant penalties, there was plenty of action for Formula 1 fans. The most notable incident was perhaps the hefty penalty for Lando Norris. Due to ignoring the yellow flag, he received a ten-second stop-and-go penalty, causing the Brit to finish in tenth place. Max Verstappen drove an excellent race and ultimately won the Qatar Grand Prix.
  • The season traditionally concluded in Abu Dhabi, which once again provided a race full of action. Piastri and Verstappen collided in turn one, for which the Dutchman received a ten-second penalty. This made the constructors' championship temporarily exciting for McLaren against Ferrari, as Sainz and Leclerc secured second and third place. However, Norris drove an excellent race, and his first place was enough to win the constructors' championship for McLaren! Additionally, Gasly impressively finished in seventh position, securing sixth place for Alpine in the championship. What a comeback!
