Fernando Alonso has insisted there is “no urgency” to his decision regarding his F1 future with Aston Martin.
The two-time champion is yet to commit himself to the team for the 2027 season, with the Silverstone-based squad awaiting his call.
Aston Martin has voiced its desire to continue its relationship with Alonso, who has endured a challenging campaign thus far.
The AMR26 car has proved to be uncompetitive and has scored just three points, courtesy of Alonso, during the campaign.
As he weighs over his options, other drivers have confirmed their places on next year's grid, with no big movers announced as of yet.
When it was put to him that Aston Martin would likely need an answer soon for its own planning, Alonso told media including RacingNews365: “Sure, sure.
“Those [other] drivers [on the grid], they were visiting Lawrence in the summer. No urgency.”

Alonso highlights F1 hope over 2027 decision
Alonso detailed that he is waiting to determine if he will be satisfied with driving next year's cars before he comes to a decision.
“It's a matter of understanding what the rules from next year will have an impact or not on the racing and on the driving side of things,” he said.
“The current cars, as I said many times, are not the best cars to drive and to enjoy.
“But next year there is a step in the right direction, hopefully.
“At the same time, I need to think what is the best programme for next year and sit with the team.
“If it's behind the wheel or in another role, I will be helping the most. That will be the most important thing to decide together.”
