Toto Wolff has stated Mercedes must stay "disciplined" as it closes in on its first double title success in six years.
Kimi Antonelli enters the Mexico City Grand Prix this weekend with a major chance to secure his maiden drivers' title, needing only ninth on the road to be crowned the youngest ever champion.
While Mercedes can mathematically take the constructors' title this weekend, it is less likely, as it needs to significantly out-score Ferrari.
But as it nears getting its hands on both trophies, Wolff insisted the focus can't slip at this late stage of the campaign.
"The championships are moving closer, but our mindset does not change," Wolff said.
"Thinking about the outcome won't help us achieve it. We will stay disciplined, take each session as it comes, and concentrate on doing the fundamentals well.
"That includes Fred [Vesti], who will take over George [Russell]'s car for FP1. He is an important member of our team and we know we can rely on him to deliver precise, useful feedback as we work through Friday's programme."

Wolff admits to upgrade package challenges
Mercedes enters the round in Mexico having won last time out in the USA, with Antonelli securing his ninth win of the campaign.
The Italian appeared to have more pace than team-mate Russell, who endured another tough outing.
Wolff stated that the contrasting result between the duo has left Mercedes with work to do when it comes to understanding its upgraded package.
"Austin demonstrated the potential we have with our latest update, but it also highlighted where we still have work to do," he said.
"We have added performance, but accessing it consistently is proving more challenging.
"George suffered particularly with that last weekend and, as a team, our focus is on understanding why and helping get the car into a better window."
