Esteban Ocon led the field in the final practice session ahead of the F1 Sprint Race at Interlagos.

The Alpine driver set his quickest time midway through the session on a set of used Soft tyres, going 0.184s quicker than Sergio Perez.

George Russell set the third quickest time having completed laps on the Softs before switching to the Hards at the end.

Fernando Alonso put in a late effort to go fourth ahead of Max Verstappen, while Lewis Hamilton was sixth fastest.

Ferrari were doing a run plan to see which tyre would be best for the Sprint with their drivers, putting Charles Leclerc on the Soft and Carlos Sainz on the Hard. They ended the session 13th and 11th respectively.

Surprise Sprint race polesitter Kevin Magnussen ended the session ninth quickest behind teammate Mick Schumacher.

Sargeant earns bonus superlicence point

It was a fairly uneventful session due to the lack of rain around the circuit, with only a minor off from Nicholas Latifi in the early stages of the session.

Eyes were on Latifi's FP2 teammate Logan Sargeant, who was driving in place of Alex Albon for this session to complete laps to go towards his superlicence and a potential drive with the team in 2023.

He completed the session in last but crucially earned one bonus point to take his superlicence total to 31, having completed 100km (24 laps) without incident.
