Lewis Hamilton endured an unexpectedly underwhelming first season with Ferrari, failing to reach the podium and finishing 86 points adrift of Charles Leclerc.
Whilst his team-mate visited the rostrum on seven occasions, the seven-time F1 drivers' champion was consigned to a first podium-less campaign of his career.
He did win the sprint at the Chinese Grand Prix, and he took third in the Miami Grand Prix sprint, too, but the British driver smashed Didier Pironi's record for having the longest start to Ferrari tenure without a podium finish, a mark that had stood for over 40 years.
The 105-time grand prix winner chastised himself and his poor performance in the press on multiple occasions, with increasing pressure and calls for him to walk away from the championship.
As a team, the Scuderia also failed to live up to the anticipation of pre-season, slumping from second to fourth in the F1 constructors' standings.
However, with the dawn of a new era of regulations upon F1, there is considerable opportunity for Ferrari to ace the new rules set and return itself — and Hamilton — to title-winning ways, for the first time since winning the constructors' crown in 2008.
