Sauber team representative and managing director Alessandro Alunni Bravi has announced his departure from the Stake F1 squad.

Bravi joined the team in 2017 as a board member but moved to the public face of the F1 team ahead of the 2023 campaign when it ran under the Alfa Romeo moniker.

The Hinwil-based squad endured a difficult campaign last year, bagging just one point-scoring result throughout the 24-race season.

As the team continues to restructure ahead of Audi's takeover in 2026, Bravi will exit his role at the end of January.

“It is an emotional time as my journey with Sauber reaches its end,” Bravi said.

“Since I joined in 2017, I have seen this team grow and change beyond what anyone could have imagined.

“This organisation went through exciting and difficult times alike, all without ever losing its spirit and its commitment, which is something I find inspiring, and I was proud of being able to represent the team as its public face in the last two years.

“As I move on to a new project, I want to thank Finn Rausing, all those who put so much trust and faith in me at Sauber and Audi, and all the colleagues I have been working with for the last eight years.

“This team is a family and has a bright future ahead.”

Audi has already confirmed former Red Bull sporting director Jonathan Wheatley will take on the team principal role later this year.

A Red Bull team spokesperson has since confirmed to RacingNews365 that Wheatley has agreed an early release from the team, and will assume his duties earlier than expected.
