Nyck de Vries has opened up on how "enriching" his motorsport career currently is, with the 30-year-old finding himself in an enjoyable position where his "passion" for racing can shine through.
The Dutchman currently competes for Mahindra in Formula E, Toyota in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and supports McLaren F1 as a test and simulator driver.
He has successfully rebuilt his career after losing his F1 seat at AlphaTauri following the opening 10 rounds in 2023, with 2025 having been a strong year for him.
While a podium is yet to be achieved this year in WEC due to a difficult campaign for Toyota, de Vries has risen back towards the top in Formula E.
In the 2025 season which concluded last July, de Vries and Mahindra became regular podium contenders. The 2021 Formula E world champion ended the campaign eighth in the drivers' standings after achieving three rostrums.
Momentum is firmly behind both Mahindra – it finished fourth in the teams' standings – and de Vries ahead of the upcoming 2026 season, with pre-season testing taking place at the end of October in Valencia.
Asked if he feels satisfied and content with where his career is currently at, de Vries told RacingNews365: "I'm certainly very much enjoying the kind of programme that I'm able to do at the moment.
"I think having involvement across different series is very enriching, and there's a lot of cross-learning.
"Actually, the next F1 regulations are coming very close to what we do in Formula E and in WEC. And I just very much enjoy the involvement.
"Apart from that, I'm a racer. I want to race, and I've said it many times. Every football player would be touching a football every day, so I see no reason why I can't be involved in racing every day.
"And ultimately, it's my passion. So I do it with passion."

De Vries career awareness
While things are currently going very well for de Vries, he knows from first-hand experience that things in motorsport can change very quickly.
Following a well-deserved promotion to F1 with AlphaTauri in 2023, he was axed after just 10 races, a decision which many criticised the Faenza-based squad for.
It left de Vries in an unfortunate position after so little time to prove his worth on the F1 grid, but he has managed to rebuild his racing career in Formula E and WEC.
To ensure he remains "grounded" and not get carried away by things going so well for him, de Vries has a strong mentality method to support the navigation of his career.
Addressing that things can change quickly in motorsport, de Vries explained: "Well, at the end of the day, people have short memory.
"You've always got to perform, and you're as good as your last race, and as long as you're aware of that, then that will help you navigate.
"It'll help you navigate through either highs and lows, because whether you had a good last result, you also know that it doesn't actually mean that much, because the next weekend everything will be back to zero.
"And that actually is good both ways, because it keeps you grounded and it gives you hope for a next opportunity. And, yeah, that's part of the sport, and that's the way it is."
