Mick Schumacher has announced his exit from Alpine's endurance team after a two-year stint.

The son of seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher has dropped a 'stay tuned for 2026' message in a social media post, indicating his motorsport journey is far from over.

Schumacher joined the endurance outfit ahead of the 2024 season as it entered the hypercar class of the World Endurance Championship.

Following a difficult non-scoring start to the series over the first four events, which included retirement in his debut 24 Hours of Le Mans, Schumacher, alongside team-mates Nicolas Lapierre and Matthieu Vaxivière, went on to score points in the final four races, including a podium with third in the 6 Hours of Fuji.

Further podiums followed early this year for the former Haas F1 driver and Mercedes F1 reserve, with third-place finishes in the 6 Hours of Imola and 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, alongside new team-mates Jules Gounon and Fréderic Makowiecki.

After finishing ninth in Le Mans and scoring the same result in the 6 Hours of São Paulo, the final three races proved pointless.

Confirming his departure on Instagram, Schumacher said: "I’m very grateful for these past two years with @alpine_endurance_team. I’ve learnt so much on and off track, and I’m thankful to everyone who’s been a part of it. I wish them the very best for the future. Stay tuned for 2026 👀"

In response, the team wrote: "Thank you, Mick! It’s been a pleasure having you with us and working side by side for the past two years. Wishing you all the best for what’s next! 💪🏻"

It is anticipated that Schumacher will move to IndyCar after a test with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing at Indianapolis last month.
