McLaren has confirmed reigning Formula 2 champion Leonardo Fornaroli as one of its reserve drivers for the 2026 Formula 1 season.
Ahead of the new F1 season, which will see Lando Norris attempt to defend his drivers’ title alongside team-mate Oscar Piastri, McLaren has confirmed its full reserve driver line-up, as well as those who form part of its driver development programme for the year.

FIA to provide major F1 exemption ahead of pre-season testing - report
The FIA has granted an exemption to F1's fuel suppliers to run non-compliant fuels during the upcoming pre-season tests, it has been reported.
For 2026, the new breed of F1 power units must feature 100% sustainable fuel, with the entire process required to be carbon neutral, with the new fuels and lubricants expected to be a major performance differentiator between the teams.
