Whether Max Verstappen has earned his licence to compete in the Nurburgring 24 Hours is in doubt after problems struck during the NLS race he has been competing in.
The four-time F1 champion has been taking part in a Porsche Cayman at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, and has been deemed a rookie having no previous racing experience of 'The Green Hell.'
To qualify for the licence, a driver must have completed 14 laps and been registered in two cars, which he completed aboard the Lionspeed GT4 machine.
However, technical problems struck the sister #89 car, in which Verstappen was also due to drive, and did not take part, meaning the 'two-car' rule has not been met by Verstappen.
The Dutchman is hoping to secure the licence to compete in the Nurburgring 24 Hours in the future, and plans to gain more experience of the track later in September, the week after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
