It was Sergio Perez who topped the first practice session for the 2023 Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix for Red Bull.
The Mexican pumped in a 1:32.758s effort in Sakhir to top the first time sheets of the year, with Fernando Alonso the meat in a Red Bull sandwich, pipping Max Verstappen to second spot - although the World Champion did have car problems.
Mercedes were down in 10th and 11th through Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in FP1, but track conditions were not representative for Qualifying and the race.
That is set to come in the second 60 minute practice session in Bahrain...
