Max Verstappen is the heavy favourite for pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix after completing a clean sweep of fastest laps through practice.
The Red Bull driver ended final practice three-tenths faster than McLaren's Lando Norris as the Briton and teammate Oscar Piastri closed the gap from Friday.
Mercedes and Ferrari both struggled to make inroads as tyre degradation played a major part in the Suzuka heat, with Verstappen expertly nursing his Soft tyres through the lap to ensure enough grip remained in the final sector.
