Liam Lawson has claimed that Sergio Perez is "still not over" his dismissal from Red Bull after their fierce on-track battle in the Australian Grand Prix.
During the season-opener, after Lawson's failed getaway from the grid, he spent his afternoon battling towards the rear of the midfield, where he came across the Cadillac of Perez.
The two engaged in a fierce on-track battle, with the left-hand side of the Cadillac receiving damage after minor contact, as the stewards briefly launched an investigation into Perez forcing Lawson off track.
No penalty was forthcoming, as Lawson went on to finish in 13th with Perez in 16th place on Cadillac's F1 debut.
In late 2024, Perez lost his Red Bull seat to Lawson following poor performances, but the New Zealander himself was dropped after only two races of 2025, as he felt Perez had made the fight personal.
"Yeah, I mean, two years later, he's still not over it," Lawson told media, including RacingNews365.
"It was like he was fighting me for the world championship, and we're P16, so yeah, obviously I don't really care too much.
"My race was already over at that point. It was nothing illegal; he was aggressive, but honestly, I don't care."
Responding, Perez felt the battle was "fun."
"For me, it was just racing," the Mexican said.
"It was a bit of fun racing, and I was in a much slower car, and I think it was fun to race."
