Lewis Hamilton has revealed he felt major nerves at showing the new F1 film to the drivers for the first time.

The drivers, their partners and senior F1 bosses all gathered in Monaco on Wednesday for a private showing of the Hollywood blockbuster starring Brad Pitt, which is due for global release next month.

It is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Joseph Kosinski, who filled that role for Top Gun: Maverick, with Hamilton revealing he had already seen the film "20 times" in his role as a producer and technical advisor.

Detailing the experience, the Ferrari driver expressed his nerves and called for the drivers to share their honest feedback.

"Firstly, it wasn't the first time I've seen it, I've seen it like 20 times already," Hamilton explained to media, including RacingNews365, in Monaco.

"At least for me, it was an incredible opportunity to work with Joe and Jerry to learn from them, to see what goes into making a movie from the first script, which was like the first 30 pages and then seeing it build into a story and trying to be as authentic as it is.

"But as Jerry said when he spoke to all the drivers and teams, it is still Hollywood, right?

"So to think that it is finally here, after all the work that has gone on and then yesterday having all the drivers there, I was sitting in the middle and I was nervous.

"Everyone was seeing it for the first time, and it was great to look around and see some of the reactions, particularly from the drivers.

"I really care what the drivers think and I want them to think highly of it, and I mentioned to them after that I want their honest opinions about it, because for sure there are parts where you'd be like: 'Hey, the timing is off on a pit-stop or whatever it may be.

"But I think the great thing is the sound is great, the images are incredible, and it is something which has never been done before, so I am really proud."
