Isack Hadjar has signalled his desire to achieve his maiden grand prix victory this year following his promotion to Red Bull.
The Frechman has become the latest driver to be placed alongside Max Verstappen, succeeding Yuki Tsunoda who struggled for form at the Milton Keynes-based squad in 2025.
Hadjar has been getting up to speed at Red Bull during the Barcelona and Bahrain pre-season tests as he looks to break the trend of second drivers at the team.
Various competitors have struggled for pace at Red Bull when situated beside Verstappen across the last several years, leading to their swift exits.
But as Hadjar seeks to prove himself at the front-running squad, the 21-year-old has set his sights on reaching the top step of the podium.
“That first race win is on the radar, that would be great,” Hadjar told media including RacingNews365.
“And I'd like to see our car progressing faster than the other teams. That would be also very enjoyable.”
Hadjar's arrival at Red Bull comes at the start of a new regulation cycle with major modifications introduced to both the aerodynamic and power units.
The teams have had two pre-season tests so far to gather data, but are still running into gremlins due to the complexity of the changes.
When asked if he feels prepared to go racing in Melbourne, which hosts the season-opening round next month, Hadjar replied: “No - but no one is.
“We're just going to make the most of the laps we have. No one is going to be fully prepared and done for Melbourne otherwise, there's something wrong.
“It's all electronic calibration stuff, you just need more scenarios happening.
“You need to understand how the tyres behave, torque delivery and stuff.
“You just need more practice, but everyone will get there before Melbourne.”
